GC Introduction:

Gas chromatograph is an instrument for qualitative and quantitative analysis of multi-component complex mixtures using chromatographic separation and detection techniques. It can usually be used to analyze organic substances in soil that are heat-stable and have a boiling point of not more than 500°C, such as volatile organic compounds, organochlorine, organophosphorus, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalate esters and so on. There are many kinds of gas chromatographs with different functions, but their basic structures are similar.

Configuration:

It is generally composed of gas system, sample injection system, separation system (column system), detection and temperature control system, recording system.

Working Principle:

Gas chromatograph uses gas as the mobile phase (carrier gas). When the sample is "injected" into the injector by a micro-syringe, it is carried by the carrier gas into the packed column or capillary column.

Application fields

GC is a method of chromatographic analysis using gas as the mobile phase, and is mainly used for the separation and analysis of volatile substances. It has become one of the most important separation and analysis methods, and has been widely used in the fields of medicine and health, petrochemical industry, environmental monitoring, biochemistry and so on.

Advantages:

*High sensitivity, high efficiency, high selectivity, fast analyzing speed, small amount of sample required, wide range of applications, ect.
